Billie Einfeld was born in Stanmore, Australia in 1912. She speaks about enjoying her childhood in Australia and describes the community at that time. Billy and her husband Syd were very involved in the German Jewish Relief Fund, trying to help refugees escape from Nazi Germany.
Billie belong to WIZO, the National Council of Jewish Women and was a founding member of Friendship Club to help isolated individuals. She was the president of this organisation for many years.
