Lionel Cohen was born 2 April 1911 in Sydney. Lionel had a background in wireless equipment and was working in the industry prior to the war. With the outbreak of WWII, Lionel’s position became classified as part of a reserved occupation and as a result he was forced to stay in his job and couldn’t be dismissed.
