Centropa was born in Arad, Romania in the summer of 1999. The objective was to digitize photos, keyword them and match them to the life stories of survivors. Every interview was audiotaped and transcribed in the original language and was also translated into English. Centropa, an online Central European cultural centre can be accessed from every computer, tablet and smartphone in the world, based on the fact that new technologies, family photographs and stories were combined
