ОписаниеLetter dated 2 December 1943 from the Commonwealth of Australia Security Service to Mr. Ernst Goldschmidt, Enfield, NSW, Ref. No. D.8531. The letter notifies Ernst that he and his wife, Stephanie, are no longer "Enemy Aliens" but "Refugee Aliens". This change was in accordance with recent amendments to regulations. Ernst and Stephanie Goldschmidt had come to Australia from German-occupied Austria in 1939, just prior to the start of the War. Ernst had been president of B'nai B'rith in Vienna and was instrumental in establishing it in Australia.
