ОписаниеLists of the valuables and everyday items confiscated from Jewish families in the townships of Laca, Damo and Cseke, Hungary, 1944.

In an organised process of robbing the Jews, from 1938, the Horthy regime employed a policy of Aryanization which included the confiscation of Jewish property, businesses, assets and bonds. After the German invasion, the Nazis and fascist Arrow Cross movement accelerated this process. A ‘gold train’ disappeared carrying jewelry, art works and Persian carpets and other valuables. In the countryside local authorities and neighbours also staked their claim.
