Названиеdeclaration of acquisition of British nationality
ОписаниеThis is a series of three documents pertaining to Stenia (also known as Cyrla) Pszenny, which came into the collection stapled together. The first one is a ‘declaration of acquisition of British nationality’ in which Cyrla Pszenny requests British nationality. The document is printed and filled in by hand. It was registered with the Department of Immigration in Canberra on the 5th of December 1946. In the bottom left corner is a red wax stamp with the inscription ‘Minister for Immigration Australia’.

The second document is also related to Cyrla’s nationality request from the Department of Immigration, informing her that the aforementioned document was registered by the Department. It also informs her that she remains under the National Security (Alien Control) Regulations until she produces the declaration to an Alien Registration officer.

Finally there is a declaration of name change, in which Cyrla Pszenny becomes Cynthia Penny. It was signed in the presence of a solicitor H. V. Pisk, though there is no written signature on the document. It was signed and received by the office of the Registrar General on the 6th of June 1947, several months before her husband Benjamin received his documents pertaining to his name change in November 1947.
