This article looks at the life and reputation of Abraham Gilbert Saffron, born in 1919, of Russian-Jewish descent, and considered to be the king of organised crime in Kings Cross before his death. It looks at his life within the context of the history of Jewish criminal activities in Australia and America, and public perceptions of these activities.
