The photograph includes Rabbi Motti Feldman and the Sincopa Trio at Dudley Page Reserve, Dover Heights. The event was organised by Sydney's Dover Heights Shule.
D-Mo was raised as a Protestant Christian in Poland, but when D-Mo was 32, her mother revealed to her the secret of her grandmother's Jewish heritage.
In 2010, and inspired by this discovery, D-Mo set out to document the religious life of Sydney's Orthodox community, capturing private and communal moments. Her work aims to capture her personal journey of self-discovery and budding sense of belonging through engagement with the community.
D-mo has previously exhibited her work at the State Library of New South Wales and as part of the Head on Photo Festival. Recent works have focused on the experience of the Sydney
Sudanese refugee community and the migrant experience.
