The authors explore scholarly writings by rabbis as a means of ascertaining how Jews were able to follow Jewish law and ethics in response to National Socialist medical decisions and atrocities. The responsa also powerfully demonstrate the breadth and rsiliencey of the Jewish legal-ethical tradition in facing the most difficult ethical decisions in medicine.
