The material was developed in the late 1970’s early 1980’s after the British type DPM (but not identical) developed in the 1960’s. The standard DPCU was developed following aerial photographs of the Australian terrain and works in areas from arid bushland through to the tropical jungle all over Australia. 50 kippot were made in the USA using this material.
