The author was able to assume the identity of an 'Aryan' and visited numbers of Jewish cities and towns in Nazi-occupied Poland. As a courier of the underground Bund he carried aid and printed material to Jews in ghettos and camps, and to those who had found hiding places in cities, villages and forests
