Description

Catalogue of a painting exhibition in Jerusalem showing the history of thousands of Jews who sought asylum in Shanghai during the Holocaust
During World War II, Shanghai was one of the few cities in the world which received large numbers of Jewish refugees fleeing from Nazi persecution.
About 20,000 Jewish refugees were accommodated in the Shanghai Ghetto at the height of the war.
The display features 30 oil paintings and 40 Chinese ink and wash paintings that were created based upon real photos from that period.
