Description

Discusses the question of active Jewish survivor participation in the establishment of the health services in the DP camps. The physical rehabilitation of the survivors was an issue that played an important role in the seeking of their group as a national collective. The four sections address four time periods each describing the relationship emerging between the survivors and their rescuers and the linkage between the political struggle and the physical rehabilitation of the survivors in the aftermath of the Holocaust
