Explores the return of Soviet Jews to the Ukraine following the Holocaust. Refugees tried to return to their pre-war places of residence. The policy in the Ukraine was to minimize the return of Jews in particular. Those who returned to their cities and towns of residence were met by mass killing sites where their family members had been murdered. Tensions emerged between Jews and the surrounding population, as a result of their desire to recover belongings that had been stolen
