Description
During World War II and the years that followed, Hashomer Hatzair in Mandate Palestine, and subsequently the State of Israel, underwent great changes with regard to the movement's position on the heroism demonstrated by movement members during the Holocaust in gneneral and the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising in particular. This article traces these changes and the factors that shaped them, when the Knesset officially changed the name of Israel's annual Holocaust memorial day from "Holocaust and ghetto uprising day" to Holocaust and heroism remembrance day"
