Description

The ghetto in Staszow came into being in June 1942 and was one of those related to the specific goal of deporting Jews to Treblinka. This article describes the methods used to obliterate the Jews in the small towns of the district. The story of Staszow sheds light on the lives of the Jews at this time. Jews were exterminated for the sake of a Nazi ideology that doomed them to extermination, and that ideology was aided by Polish nationalist antisemitism, which linked the persecution and removal of the Jews with the fulfillment of the vision of restoring an independent Poland
