This article recounts the earliest instances of Yiddish theatre in Australia, and looks at the instrumental figures of Chaim Reinholz and Samuel Weissberg (Weissberg's memoir is quoted at length). The article looks at the flourishing of Melbourne Yiddish theatre and at its decline throughout the '60s and '70s.
