The story of Hannah Senesh - her tragic mission as a parachutist became a legend almost immediately upon news of her execution at the age of 23 at the hands of the fascist Hungarian authorities. Betrayed by those who helped her cross the border, Hannah was immediately captured by the Nazis, imprisoned, tortured and sentenced to death. She died a martyr's death before a firing squad on November 7, 1944
