Description

Wylezynska's rescue activity stemmed from her humanism at a time when such values were being crushed by the occupation. Her diary traces the psychological and ethical dynamics of rescue and the complex rescuer/rescuee relationship - she at times found herself critical of her charges' behaviour. The Jews and these issues occupied a central place in her diary
