Description

Discusses why young survivors in the DP camps joined the Zionist youth movements and kibbutzim. It turns out that the Zionist ideology itself was not the main drawing card to these movements for these young people, and that they were motivated by powerful personal needs - including the yearning for a new sense of family - as well as by the everyday challenges they faced. However, ultimately life in in the movement collective cultivated and bostered the commitment to Zionism among these young people.
