Description

The purpose of this paper is to show the development of French Christian attitudes to anti-Jewish laws enacted by the Vichy Government in World War II, and to compare them with those of French Jews towards their immigrant co-religionists. The author acknowledges Christian protests but declares they were motivated less by compassion for the victims than by a distate for brutal violence in any form.
