Description
Based on 50 interviews with women Jewish Holocaust survivors in the US, Israel and Europe, this paper documents the experiences of Jewish women in Ravensbruck concentration camp and their rescue by the combined efforts of the International Red Cross, Count Folke Bernadotte, and Hitler's masseur Felix Kersten. It is estimated that about 7500 Jewish women were rescued in this way and given asylum in Sweden. Four individual such women are singled out to recount their personal histories.
