Political corruption, generally defined as misuse of authority for personal enrichment was widespread under National Socialist rule, thus Goring's decree for the Four Year plan, commanded that the 'abolishment of the Jews from the economic scene' was to be exclusively the 'job of the state' carried out on a 'strictly legal basis' and was to be 'for the sole benefit of the Reich'
