Description

Examines the scenes that feature Polish witnesses in both the film and the outtakes arguing that a re-examination of Polish sequences in the film and some of the interviews that were excluded from the final version allow us to detect a unique form of bearing witness referred to as co-witnessing. The author focuses on Lanzmann's contempt for the Polish interviewees language and on the translator's efforts to navigate this territory.
