Description

Follows the extensive correspondence of two families to illustrate how aid and news reached the Warsaw ghetto from the world outside. Despite strict censorship, a ghetto postal service continued to pass letters and tens of thousands of parcels to residents in the year before the mass deportations of residents to Treblinka. Advances our understanding of the long reach of the Holocaust and of family ties in a time of existential distress
