Description
Many Jews have a left-wing orientation and had positive feelings towards the Soviets until the 1950s. Coincidental with the rise in communism was increased surveillance of those suspected of being communist by ASIO. Seven members of the Komesaroff family feature in ASIO's files but they were unaware of being under surveillance.
