The post-1945 Austrian narrative was a consensus concealing all the contradictions that did exist. It was reconciliation without truth. But it had its price, and this became evident as soon as questions regarding the truth started to be asked. In Austria a new generation started to challenge this consensus. The new generation was interested in the truth and this became known one generation after the liberation of Austria by the Allies
