Description

The use of the results of the hypothermia medical experiments performed on prisoners at the Dachau Concentration Camps is controversial. Positions vary from a total ban to advocacy of the uninhibited use of the material. The issue has largely been ethical but the author argues that the results should not be accepted at face value without evaluating the validity of the methodology and conclusions. In this article the methodology and data is carefully reviewed and critical shortcomings in scientific content and credibility are revealed.
