Description

Analyzes the apparent contradiction between two commonly used portraits of Jewish womens's behaviour during the Holocaust and proposes a new framework for incorporating both of them into a more sequential theory of women's responses. Follows four women through the Holocaust and examines how each framework helps to understand and explain their experiences, behaviour and coping strategies
