Description

In April 1945, the SS began to destory the traces of its crimes at Mauthausen concentration camp. Facilities for mass killing were dismantled and those who had become witnesses to mass murder were killed. In May 1945, a War Crimes Investigation Team arrived there and this team was charged with securing evidence of the war crimes committed by the SS and to lay the foundations for the military tribunals against the perpetrators
