Description

Yehuda Bauer postulates that the Nazi war against the Jew was an ideological war, meaning it was sustained by a system of ideas as its sole justification. Based on this the author suggests that any course on the Holocaust must include as a primary component an analysis of the ideology. This article discusses what theological analysis entails, religious ideas and the Holocaust, the use of religious ideas for justifying action and the use of religious ideas to give meaning to the Holocaust.
