Analyses Ukrainian nationalists role in the Holocaust in the region of Volhynia. He traces their placement and training with the German SS and then follows them as they deserted their posts and joined the resistance movement in the Ukrainian Insurgent Army. He describes how they embarked on a resistance campaign against the German occupiers, and a brutal cleansing of the Polish population of Volhynia. His analysis is based on archival base of Jewish, Ukrainian and German testimonies and documents
