Description

The Holocaust is one of the most well-documented historical events in the history of humanity.Yet according to a 2014 Anti-Defamation League survey only 54% of the 53,100 people in 102 countries polled had ever heard of the Holocaust. This speaks to the work that educators have cut out for them in regard to educating the young about the Holocaust. When the Holocaust is taught, it must be done in a way that is historically accurate and pedagogically sound. In this chapter the major foundational issues are discussed, based on the authors' collective teaching experiences
