Explores letters of denunciation sent to the honor court in Poland and to DP honor courts in Allied-occupied Germany. The motivation for most denunciations was vengeance for the wrongs allegedly perpetrated by the accused against the letter writers and their families in ghettos and camps. Some letters were clearly motivated by personal grudges that exaggerated or distorted wartime behaviour of the accused
