Description
The Holocaust really begins with 1933, when the Nazis came to power in Germany. That year marked the beginning of the organized war against the Jews. The acts of heroism of the ghetto fighters, and of the partisans are only isolated gleams of light. The ghetto fighters had the desire 'to raise in glory the afflicted people'. Any understanding of the period of the Holocaust must also take into account the brave deeds of the Jews living in lands that were free from Nazi rule
