Description

The Antonescu regime was responsible for the destruction of nearly half the Jewish population of Romania and the territories under its authority during the Holocaust years. After 1990 there was an extensive production of antisemitic materials denying any Romanian responsibility for the deaths of Jews. A commission was created in order to investigate the crimes of the Romanian communist regime. The report of the commission did not serve as closure, rather it represents a new starting point for serious discussion
