Argentina, which is the Latin American country with the largest Jewish community, is where antisemitism is most visible. Jews were considered as enemies by Argentine nationalists since the second decade of the 20th century. In the last 4 decades anti-Zionism has become an active and growing element of Argentinean antisemitism. One of the bloodiest episodes took place during the military dicatatorship of 1976-1983, when the Jews were subjected to humiliations, degradation and vilification
