Description

Presents an overview of the measures taken by Fascist Italy and the Nazi occupiers regarding Jewish art and cultural property between 1938 and 1945 and of post war restitution measures in Italy after 1945. However, because of the fragmentary nature of surviving records it is not always possible to establish the extent of the looting or to determine the ultimate fate of Jewish-owned cultural property.
