Description

Italy's behaviour toward the Yugoslav Jews represents something unique in the annals of the Holocaust - it consists of protection and rescue rather than persecution and slaughter. The Fascist state included many high government officials and army officers who went out of their way to rescue Jews at the risk of unpleasant and even dangerous confrontations with Nazi Germany.
