Description
This article focuses on the genocide of the Jews of Lithuania. The first stage was completed by December 1941, when 80% of the Jewish population had been murdered.
December 1941 to March 1943 was the relatively stable period when Jews were used as cheap labour for the army effort, and no mass murders took place.
The third phase was from March 1943 to July 1944, when the ghettos and labour camps were closed down, and inmates were either sent to other workcamps or to extermination camps.
