Description
This chapter seeks to determine the extent to which territorial concerns influenced policy vis-a-vis the Jews and other minorities in Slovakia and Hungary during the War. The author aims not only to enrich the overall picture of the region's World War II history but also to challenge some of the assumtions upon which our understanding of the Holocaust is based. The author argues that examining relationships between neighbouring states can reveal much about why the fate of Jews varied widely between state contexts and over time.
