Description

The author addresses the treatment of the history of the Holocaust in Poland after the Holocaust. Up to 1989 very little attention was given to the long presence of Jews in Polish history. The Polish-Jewish relations after the war was characterised by a kind of martyrdom rivalry, each side believing that emphasising the sufferings of the other may decrease the scope of its own tragedy.
