Finds some evidence that Jews welcomed the Soviet occupation of 1940. Uncovers rising Lithuanian irritation over this support. One in six members of the Lithuanian Communist party was Jewish. Ethnic Lithuanians expressed powerlessness in the face of the strong Russian and Jewish presence.
