Most post-Holocaust theologians see the Holocaust as a rupture in history, calling into question the entire Western ethical/religious tradition. In a post Holocaust world our essential humanity consists in living in a manner deemed godly.
We are called upon not to question the presence of God in Auschwitz, but to build a world in which goodness will prevail.
