Description

Jews in fairly large numbers arrived in Yugoslavia in the 14th and 15th centuries. They were persecuted in the 1930s and with the Nazi occupation, many thousands were killed on local soil, while others were shipped to the death camps. About 20% of the 80,000 Jews of the pre-war community survived.
