Description

The Holocaust in the former Soviet Union is not a subject of historical interest alone, but raises serious questions about the relations between indigenous or titular nationalities and the Jews and about responsibility for the atrocities of the war period and for the evils of the Soviet system. This chapter identifies the main outlines of how the Holocaust was perpetrated in the USSR and how it has been treated in Soviet writings, offering some suggestions as to why it was accorded such treatemnt and examines the consequences of that treatment
