Tragic decisions: removing Jewish children from their Christian guardians in postwar Europe

The author addresses three main philosophical issues: was the project of the children being removed morally justified? What became of the identity of the children being brought up as non-Jewish and the issue regarding the normative status of the parents' desires vis-a vis their child once the parent had died or were involuntarily separated from their offspring.
