This paper focuses on the 1930s and examines the two major left-of -centre New York Yiddish newspapers - the Forward (Forverts) and Morgn Frayhayt (Morning Freedom), later named simply Frayhayt - and a few journals generally allied with or sharing the point of view of one other of these newspapers.
