Description

Concludes that the Zionist movement which led the struggle for Jewish statehood in 1947-1948 was a very different one from the movement ten years earlier. The vital part of the Zionist constituency, the Jews of Eastern Europe who had created the Jewish National Home in Palestine prior to 1939 and would have been the most able and best prepared to complete the task, existed no longer.
