Description

The story of Ludwig Bieder written by his wife, Lois Bieder. Ludwig was a doctor working at the Rosenhugel hospital in Vienna in 1938 when the Anschluss occurred. German soldiers took control of the hospital and he was forced to leave the country. Seeking safety, he was granted an entry visa to New Zealand, where he started a new life. Eventually meeting his wife Lois, working as a doctor, starting a family. He was able to return to Europe after the war, reuniting with his family. Eventually settling in Palmerston North with his wife and five daughters, he spent his life contributing to health and medicine in New Zealand.
